Mrs Evelyn Nsiah Asare Proposes New Ways for Kotoko Fans to Support Club’s Growth

Mrs Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Personal Assistant to the Asante Kotoko Board Chairman, has called for greater supporter participation in the club’s financial development, transparency and decision-making processes.

In a post shared on her Facebook page, Mrs Nsiah Asare urged Kotoko supporters to consider ways of turning their passion for the club into regular financial contributions and meaningful engagement.

She encouraged the club to learn from Manchester United’s approach to supporter participation, suggesting that Asante Kotoko could introduce and strengthen initiatives that allow fans to contribute financially while having organised channels to express their views.

According to her, season tickets, individual match tickets, paid memberships and official merchandise could provide practical ways for supporters to help generate revenue for the club. She also proposed premium tickets and hospitality packages for fans who can afford to contribute more.

Mrs Nsiah Asare stressed that building a successful football club requires more than winning matches, noting that investment in infrastructure, player welfare, recruitment, youth development and competent administration is essential for long-term progress.

However, she emphasised that supporters’ financial contributions must be accompanied by transparency and accountability. She believes fans should be able to understand how their money is being used and how their contributions are helping the club achieve its objectives.

To improve communication between the club and its supporters, she proposed regular supporter forums and a representative advisory body where fans could raise concerns, share ideas and discuss the future direction of Asante Kotoko.

Citing Manchester United as an example, she pointed to the English club’s Fans’ Forum and Fans’ Advisory Board as structures that could inspire a more organised approach to supporter engagement at Kotoko.

She clarified that purchasing a ticket or membership should not automatically give a supporter ownership of the club or control over team selection. Instead, she advocated for clearly defined channels through which supporters could be represented and their concerns considered.

She also maintained that supporters who cannot afford to make regular financial contributions should not be excluded from discussions about the club’s future.

Mrs Nsiah Asare’s position is that Asante Kotoko must establish a system that encourages supporters to contribute while requiring management to account for the funds received.

Her proposal comes as discussions about the club’s long-term development, financial strength and relationship with its supporters remain important to the Porcupine Warriors’ future.

Ultimately, she believes that the club’s passionate fan base can play a greater role in building a stronger and more sustainable institution through participation, organisation, transparency and trust.
