BornAgain Sports is committed to independent, responsible sports journalism for readers in Ghana and around the world. This policy explains the standards we apply to news, analysis, opinion, video, programmes, and other editorial work.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made for the benefit of readers and are kept separate from advertising, sponsorship, commercial relationships, and personal interests. Commercial support must not determine whether a legitimate story is covered or the editorial conclusion reached.
Accuracy and verification
We seek to verify names, dates, scores, quotations, claims, and other material facts before publication. Breaking news may develop, so stories can be updated as reliable information becomes available. Where appropriate, we identify uncertainty, distinguish reports from confirmed facts, and avoid presenting speculation as certainty.
Sourcing and attribution
We use official statements, interviews, direct observation, documents, reputable reporting, and other appropriate sources. Information originating with another publisher, club, league, organisation, or social account should be attributed clearly. We do not present another organisation’s reporting or quotation as original BornAgain Sports reporting.
Quotations and fairness
Quotes should be represented in context and should not be materially distorted. Coverage involving criticism, allegations, disciplinary matters, or disputes should be handled fairly and with appropriate care. When practical and relevant, affected people or organisations may be given an opportunity to respond.
Corrections
Material factual errors are reviewed and corrected transparently. Minor spelling, formatting, or clarity edits may be made without a correction note when they do not change the meaning. Our Corrections Policy explains how readers can report a concern.
Conflicts of interest
People involved in editorial work should disclose relevant personal, financial, professional, club, league, or commercial interests to the editorial lead. A conflict does not always prevent coverage, but it should be managed and disclosed when it could reasonably affect reader trust.
Sponsored, paid, and promotional content
Paid articles, branded content, sponsorships, commercial promotions, and programme or event partnerships should be labelled clearly. Advertising and sponsorship do not receive the same editorial treatment as independent reporting. A commercial relationship should not be hidden by presenting promotional copy as ordinary news.
AI-assisted content
AI tools may assist with drafting, transcription, formatting, translation, or research organisation where appropriate. A human editor remains responsible for checking facts, context, quotations, originality, copyright risk, and the final published result. AI-generated text is not a substitute for verification or editorial judgment.
News, opinion, promotion, and advertising
News reporting aims to describe verified events. Analysis adds explanation or interpretation. Opinion expresses a stated viewpoint. Promotion and advertising support a person, product, event, service, or organisation. We aim to label these distinctions clearly so readers can understand what they are reading.
Editorial concerns
Readers can raise an editorial concern through the Contact page. Please include the article URL, the specific claim or passage, the reason for concern, and any reliable supporting information. Privacy requests should be sent through the same route and will be handled under the Privacy Policy.
