FC Samartex have reported Asante Kotoko to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Player Status Committee over an alleged outstanding transfer fee involving midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo.
According to a report by Oyerepa TV, FC Samartex have reported Asante Kotoko to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Player Status Committee over an alleged outstanding GH¢50,000 transfer fee involving Lord Hilary Adabo.
The matter has now been taken to the GFA Player Status Committee, which is responsible for handling various disputes involving player registrations, transfers and contractual matters within Ghana football.
Samartex’s decision to report Kotoko comes after the club allegedly maintained that an amount of GH¢50,000 remains unpaid from the transfer of Adabo.
However, Asante Kotoko have strongly disputed the claim and insist that they have no records showing that the club owes FC Samartex any outstanding transfer fee relating to the player.
The Porcupine Warriors’ position could now make the case one for the GFA Player Status Committee to determine, particularly if the two clubs are unable to resolve the disagreement through direct discussions.
The committee is expected to examine the relevant documents submitted by both parties, including the transfer agreement and any payment records connected to Adabo’s move.
Lord Hilary Adabo has been part of Kotoko’s squad following his move from FC Samartex, and the latest development has brought attention to the financial arrangements surrounding the transfer.
For Samartex, the reported GH¢50,000 claim represents money the club believes remains due under the terms of the agreement. Kotoko, on the other hand, maintain that their records do not support the claim.
The dispute is therefore likely to depend on the documentation and contractual terms available to the GFA.
Until the Player Status Committee reaches a decision, neither side can be considered to have won the dispute.
The matter is now before the appropriate GFA body, with both clubs expected to present their respective positions and supporting documents.
The case could provide further clarity on whether any outstanding payment exists and, if so, whether Asante Kotoko are required to settle the alleged GH¢50,000 owed to FC Samartex.
More updates will follow as the GFA Player Status Committee considers the matter.
