Swedru All Blacks Supporters Issue Violent Threats to Referees Ahead of Kotoko Game

Swedru All Blacks supporters have issued a strong warning to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its president, Kurt Okraku, over what they believe is unfair treatment of their club in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.

The supporters claim they are concerned about the standard of officiating in matches involving Swedru All Blacks and have called for fairness when their team faces Asante Kotoko on Saturday.

According to the supporters, they will not accept what they describe as an alleged agenda to push Swedru All Blacks towards relegation. They insisted that the club will fight to remain in the Ghana Premier League despite what they believe are attempts to undermine their campaign.

“If it is Kurt Okraku’s plan for Swedru All Blacks to go into relegation, we are telling him that it will not work. We will stay in the league,” the supporters reportedly said.

They also raised concerns about referee appointments, alleging that certain officials are being deliberately assigned to matches involving their club.

The supporters specifically referred to last weekend’s Ghana Premier League Week 5 fixture against Aduana Stars in Dormaa, where they claimed a controversial penalty was awarded against Swedru All Blacks.

They have therefore urged the referees appointed for Saturday’s encounter with Asante Kotoko to officiate fairly and avoid decisions that could negatively affect their team.

During their protest interview, some supporters reportedly issued an extremely serious threat against referees, including language suggesting violence if they believe the match officials are unfair. Such threats are unacceptable and should not be interpreted as a legitimate way of addressing concerns over football officiating.

The supporters have also appealed to President John Dramani Mahama and Sports Minister Kofi Adams to intervene in the situation.

They questioned the current administration of the domestic league and alleged that the GFA leadership is bringing the name of Ghana football into disrepute.

The supporters further accused GFA President Kurt Okraku of having links to six clubs and allegedly using those clubs for business purposes. These claims remain allegations from the supporters and have not been independently established.

With Swedru All Blacks set to face Asante Kotoko on Saturday, the supporters are demanding transparent and impartial officiating. They believe every club in the Ghana Premier League deserves equal treatment and that referees must be allowed to perform their duties without pressure, intimidation or interference.

The controversy has added tension ahead of the important fixture, with the supporters making it clear that they expect fairness throughout the match.
