Asante Kotoko Board Unveils 10-Year Development Plan

The Asante Kotoko Board has unveiled an ambitious 10-year development plan covering the period from 2026 to 2036, with the construction of a new stadium and improved infrastructure among its key priorities.

The announcement was made at the Asante Kotoko National Supporters Delegates Congress, where Board representatives including Lawyer Alexander Osei Owusu, David Obeng Nyarko, Richard Osei Akoto and Football Director Stanley Menzo met with supporters.

The Board disclosed that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has approved the club’s long-term development plan. According to the leadership, the full plan will soon be presented to Otumfuo, who is expected to make an official announcement.

One of the major objectives is the construction of a new stadium for the club. The Board stressed that building a stadium remains a key part of its vision and expressed its determination to see the project completed before the end of its tenure.

The 2026–2036 plan also includes the establishment of an Asante Kotoko women’s team, development of infrastructure at the club’s training grounds and other projects aimed at creating a stronger and more sustainable football institution.

The Board further revealed that discussions are ongoing with the Sports Council over the possibility of Asante Kotoko taking charge of the Baba Yara Stadium. The club indicated that it is prepared to make the necessary financial commitment, including paying for a year, should an agreement be reached.

On youth development, the Board said significant investment has been made in the youth team because young players represent the future of the club. The leadership pledged to continue supporting the development of talented players who can progress into the senior side.

The Board also praised Football Director Stanley Menzo for his work so far and called on supporters to remain united, attend matches and contribute financially and in other ways to the growth of the club.

The leadership believes strong collaboration between the Board and supporters will be crucial to achieving its long-term vision for Asante Kotoko.
